Yesterday I was showing homes to some clients who have a pretty broad criteria for what will work for them.  They're primarily looking for acreage with privacy and views, good craftsmanship and materials.  They have some flexibility with how far they are willing to travel from town-- I usually describe the important drives in Evergreen as the time to the schools from the house, the times to the grocery stores and the time to I-70.  After a little more discovery conversation we decided to look at two homes west of town in Hyland Hills/Floyd Hill area in the subdivisions of The Grand Preserve and Santa Fe Mountain.  Ultimately neither home was an ideal match for these clients.  Here's my take on these homes:

55 Steeldust in The Grand Preserve:

[MLS:2836464]

This is a great looking house with a rustic exterior finish of stained board and bat siding and extensive stonework.  It has terrific views and will likely be attractive to those who want mountain contemporary finishes with a backdrop of snow capped peaks.  The driveway is not too steep and its paved, providing easy access to its great curb appeal.

Bob's high points:

  • Great exterior finish
  • stone work is carries from the exterior inside to the fireplace
  • Ipe or some other high quality decking material is very attractive
  • awesome views from deck
  • great flow from front entry through to

[MLS:7871314]

And this one was even better but contracted fast

[MLS:6495782]

Here is the rest of the inventory available right now.
